Who We Play

We feel to be competitive you have to play teams that are "better" than you. In the 2016-2017 season the Lady Eagles only lost 2 games vs teams ranked lower while going 26-20-6 overall. We will admit this year was a bit crazy, but the opportunities came from our relentless game play that left a mark on the girls hockey community.

A typical Season is approx. 40 games for AA 30 for A level teams.

Season Opener vs Philadelphia Jr Flyers

We look forward to playing the Jr. Flyers every year in preseason. These teams have been playing all summer and give you a good indication of the competition the Lady Eagles will face by the end of the year.

Rochester Fire on Ice

This is a Staple Tournament for this crew. Each year the team gets better and better as they gain the experience of playing high end girls teams. The U17 division allows for Canadian teams to come cross the border for stiffer competition.

The Connecticut Polar Bear Tournament

A first time tournament for this NC girls team, the Polar Bear tournament used to be one of the biggest deals in the North. Most teams have moved north to Boston and we will as well next season. It was still worth it, as we had 10 of our players pulled to talk with prep school and college coaches.

2016 Bauer Invitational

This was not a scheduled tournament for the Lady Eagles but got called up as we were in the top 25 ranking to participate. Another first for a NC girls team. The Lady Eagles were able to secure a sponsor to allow the players to pay only 250.00 each to go on a bus ride to Detroit.

The Steel City Invitational

The Lady Eagles were invited to Pittsburgh to be part of the #GirlGlobalGame Weekend. USA Hockeys writeup can be found here. The Girls fought through 3 injuries to play the home team Steel City Selects to an intense 2-1 loss end the game with only 9 healthy players.

The St. Louis Invitational

On a recommendation from a team we played hard at the Bauer Invitational, The Ladies got invited to the St. Louis Invitational. This was in conjunction with the Women's Frozen Four weekend. The weekend had D1 college play, skills competition and a U19AA tournament. This was a Midget event and Lady Eagles pull out a 1-0 overtime win verse the true U19AA St. Louis Cyclones in the finals to bring home the cup.
