February 4th and 5th the Carolina Lady Eagles hosted the Potomac Lady Patriots to end the regular season and finish off the seasons' home games. Saturday morning the team hosted an optional morning skate that was a practice with a few younger Lady Eagles. Both the older and younger girls had a great time skating and playing games. That afternoon kicked off a three game series. Game 1 was an exhibition game coached by Coach Cindy Murphy. Even though it was not as quick of a start the Eagles wanted, the girls remained consistent scoring 2 goals a period. 5 different goal scorers, with a 2 goal game by Carolyn Whitney, and 6 different assist contributors made up the total of 6 goals scored for the home team. Goaltender Jessica Lehning recorded 11 saves in the 6-2 victory.

Saturday evening Coach Dean Whitney was back behind the bench. In a game that was again tighter than the Eagles squad would have liked, Lauren Smith had a 2 goal performance to help push the team past the visiting Patriots. The Eagles tallied 3 other goals, and 2 of the 5 were on the power play. The goals were enough to hold off the Patriots 3 goals and earn a victory. Lehning saved another 14 shots in her final game of the season. Thank you Jess for your hard work and support for the team!

The Sunday morning match up featured a flood of Eagle goals. After a scoreless first period, the goals came in bunches. 3 goals in the 2nd period and another 4 in the 3rd pushed the team to a 7-0 win and earn 2 points in the league standings. Emily Petersen had a career high 4 goal game and 3 other teammates added to the count. Naomi Nice stopped all 17 shots faced to record another shut out.
